Botox
Treatment for reducing signs of aging.
What Does Botox Do?
Wrinkles, fine lines, and deep grooves develop gradually over time as your skin starts losing collagen and elastin, which are both known for keeping your skin tight and supple. Plus, you start losing that cushioning, protective layer of fat between your muscles and skin, meaning your muscles start contracting closer to your skin.
Botox Injections
Botox is made of small amounts of a purified form of a botulinum toxin protein known as Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium interacts with signals that cause repeated muscle contractions, forcing muscles to relax upon injection. Skin naturally smooths out, minimizing the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and grooves. These combined effects lead to unsightly signs of aging.
